The family of Dynamics effects includes all those effects which in various ways affect the volume of the signal. Among these, in addition to the boosts - for which we have a specific section - there are of course the Compressors and Noise Gates.
The Compressor acts on the signal of your instrument by increasing the volume of a low signal and vice versa, all through a real "compression" of the signal. It can also act as a real limiter when used with a more incisive setting. The Boss CS3 is one of the historical compressors / sustaners.
The Noise Gates, on the other hand, work by eliminating unwanted background noise, such as background noise from vintage amplifiers. Also historic is the BOSS NS2 pedal.
