Yamaha has announced a new range of Revstar electric guitars. Originally launched in 2015, Revstar was Yamaha's first new electric guitar series in more than a decade, drawing on the brand's heritage in electric guitar design and Yamaha Motor Co. Ltd.'s motorcycle design heritage.

"The original Revstar concept was inspired by Café Racer motorcycles: high-performance racing machines that showcased the riders' personalities," says Dave Miner, Product Marketing Manager for Electric Guitars, Yamaha Guitar Group. "The new Revstar series refines this concept with improved playability, versatility, and tone, for players interested in classic style with modern updates."

The new Revstar series consists of three tiers: Element, Standard, and Made in Japan Professional. All models feature chambered bodies developed with Yamaha's Acoustic Design process. Using advanced measurement and modeling tools, Yamaha developed the chambering pattern to specifically shape the sound and increase resonance, while reducing weight and optimizing balance.

All new Revstar models come with unique switching options for enhanced versatility.

Revstar Professional RSP02T models are available with P90-style single-coil pickups, feature the Focus Switch, a passive boost function that evokes the sound of overwound pickups, plus a unique 5-way switching circuit that offers a new twist on classic "in-between" tones.
