Yamaha has announced a new range of Revstar electric guitars. Originally launched in 2015, Revstar was Yamaha's first new electric guitar series in over a decade, drawing on the brand's heritage in electric guitar design and Yamaha Motor Co. Ltd.'s motorcycle design legacy.

"The original Revstar concept was inspired by Café Racer motorcycles: high-performance racing machines that showcased the personality of their riders," says Dave Miner, Product Marketing Manager for Electric Guitars, Yamaha Guitar Group. "The new Revstar series refines this concept with improved playability, versatility, and tone, for musicians interested in classic style with modern updates."

The new Revstar series consists of three tiers: Element, Standard, and Made in Japan Professional. All models feature chambered bodies developed using Yamaha's acoustic design process. Using advanced measurement and modeling tools, Yamaha developed the chambering pattern to specifically shape the sound and increase resonance, while reducing weight and optimizing balance.

All new Revstar models feature unique switching options for increased versatility. Revstar Element models feature the Dry Switch high-pass filter introduced in the original series. The revamped range also introduces a new neck profile across all models, a new range of racing-inspired finishes, and the first left-handed models in the series' history.
