The new BB basses are constructed with a multi-laminate alder/maple/alder body. The hardness of the maple in the center of the instrument's body increases rigidity and accentuates the midrange to allow for greater projection within a band's sound, and offers more uniform vibration transmission between the body and the maple neck, resulting in unparalleled resonance and sustain.
