A no-compromise series based on a selection of woods from all over the world. WOW, an acronym for Wood Of the World Series, but also the exclamation of those who see these guitars for the first time, represents the top of the EKO catalog range. Each individual guitar is unique and every wooden part is selected from a wide range of precious materials such as Rosewood, Cocobolo, Ovangkol, Koa, Ebony and others. The entire WOW series is All Solid, therefore, with a solid top, back, and sides, enhancing the nature of the wood in favor of a particularly specific timbre.

Master luthier, Roberto Fontanot, carefully selects the woods for each instrument to create masterpieces that will be the joy of every single musician. The variety of woods used for the back and sides of each individual guitar will give the six strings completely different characteristics in terms of sound.

The choice of the top fell on Solid Cedar which, in combination with the Rosewood present on the back and sides, makes the guitar, in Auditorium shape, particularly performing in modern Fingerstyle, reactive to every minimal percussive impulse and delivers a decidedly “WARM” sound despite the small size of the body; it reflects the luthier characteristics present in the Massimo Varini Signature model that went out of production a few years ago following the inclusion of Rosewood among the woods subject to CITES attention.

The Wow A800e CR LTD comes in a Natural color with a Gloss finish, in Auditorium shape. The combination of Solid Cedar on the top and Solid Rosewood on the back and sides, the result of careful research, gives this instrument a very broad and always well-balanced tonal spectrum on each individual string. A decidedly important feature is the presence of a very high-performance amplification system, the Fishman Flex Blend: consisting of a piezo and an internal condenser microphone, this system allows to capture every nuance of the guitar thanks to the possibility of gradually adding the signal picked up by the microphone to the piezo signal, via a “blend” potentiometer. Among the controls, in addition to the output Volume and the blend, there is a display tuner (activatable by pressing the volume potentiometer) and an EQ control that works in “mid-scooped” mode: when kept at minimum the signal is not equalized (flat), increasing it gradually reduces the mid frequencies in favor of bass and treble, very convenient for obtaining a sound already “ready” for the mix. If the guitar experiences feedback problems, a very common situation in acoustic settings, it is possible to invert the phase by pressing the EQ potentiometer. The combination of all these features makes the Wow A800e CR LTD an instrument suitable for professional contexts, both in the recording studio and on stage.
