Volca mix is the long-awaited mixer for the Volca series. The Volca mix is a 3-channel (2 mono, 1 stereo) analog mixer designed to combine multiple Volca series synthesizers in live performances. Three faders for volume control, low-pass/high-pass filter, and a master bus that allows you to dramatically change the sound generated by your Volca series synths. In addition to the analog sync function already familiar to Volca series users, you'll find 3 (DC) outputs for direct power to as many instruments in the series. Many features that allow you to facilitate and enrich your performances, all housed in a chassis with an aluminum panel.

Multi-functional, compact 3-channel mixer

An analog mixer designed for performance

The volca mix is a three-channel mixer with an intuitive user interface, small but with extensive connectivity. The first two channels feature a mono input, while the third is stereo. The connectors are mini-jack format to allow direct connection from the headphone output of your Volcas to the Volca Mix inputs. For volume control (with an additional 6 dB gain), and therefore for mixing the signal played by the connected Volcas, each channel is equipped with a vertical fader. Each channel also features a "Mute" button and a low-pass/high-pass filter controllable by a single potentiometer: low-pass when turned to the left, high-pass when turned to the right. A natural-sounding filter that allows you to intervene on the sonic character of the connected sources.     

Master and headphone outputs for on-stage use and integrated stereo speakers for maximum portability

The output section includes a stereo line output on RCA connectors and a mini-jack format headphone output with volume controllable by a single potentiometer. The Master signal can be visually monitored by a 4-LED stereo VU Meter. Two speakers, located in the lower corners of the panel, allow direct stereo listening to enable you to work on the go; despite their extremely small size, these are capable of greater sound power compared to those integrated in the Volca series synths. A special switch allows us to deactivate them when necessary.

Effects and control

A powerful Master channel

On the master channel of the volca mix, we have a powerful effects section entirely based on analog circuitry. In addition to an expander (controllable by the Width potentiometer), which widens the image of mono sources in the stereo field, the Volca Mix features a dynamic compressor that, behaving like the classic ducking effect applicable via side chain, compresses high frequencies in relation to level changes in the low range. An essential effect in electronic dance music production, which allows for significant mixing variation, adding a touch of professionalism to your live performances with the Volca series. 

Connect an external effects processor

The volca mix has a Send output (monaural) and an Aux input on stereo mini-jack (TRS) connectors. Thanks to the Send potentiometers on the three channels, you can send the signal of the sources connected to the Volca Mix to the input of an external multi-effect connected to the Send output. For example, using it together with the Korg mini kaoss pad 2S, you can take advantage of reverb, delay, filter, and break effects. If necessary, the Aux input can be used to connect an eventual fourth Volca, or a smartphone – to integrate iOS music apps into your setup – or any other line source. 

Use it as a Master Sync in your Volca setup

The volca mix offers an analog BPM tempo synchronization section consisting of a Sync mini-jack output that transmits sync pulses to other Volcas according to the settings applied via the Tempo potentiometer. A Play button allows you to manage the start, i.e., remote playback of the various synchronized units.

Optimize performance with other Volcas

DC outputs to power 3 Volcas simultaneously.

The three "Volca DC" outputs on the Volca Mix allow you to power as many instruments in the series, connectable via the included "DC-DC" cables; you won't need to use numerous adapters or power strips. 

Various accessories included

Along with the Volca mix, an AC power adapter, three DC-DC cables, and three audio cables are supplied. As soon as it's unboxed, the Volca Mix will immediately become part of your setup.
