Description

Taylor 814E Sunburst Gold Label

With Taylor’s new Gold Label Collection, Andy has pushed into new sonic territories for Taylor, drawing inspiration from an older, more traditional sound. Guitars in the collection combine several new design elements that contribute to the sound: a new Super Auditorium body style, a unique V-Class-inspired bracing pattern, and a new longtenon neck joint, plus a new decorative aesthetic.

The Gold Label Collection is being introduced as a premium performance offering within Taylor’s lineup, but with a unique design identity (similar to Taylor’s Builder’s Edition Collection).

The Taylor Gold Label 814e is as aesthetically stunning as it is sonically captivating. A sophisticated blend of classic and contemporary design elements sets it apart. The grained ivoroid binding, Paua single-ring Rosette, and intricate purfling add a touch of elegance to the guitar's appearance. The faux tortoise pickguard, adorned with an engraved “Continental” pattern, enhances the vintage-inspired aesthetic. The headstock features a new design with an angled back cut, showcasing a refined interpretation of the Taylor logo inlay. Fitted with antique chrome Gotoh 510 tuners with ebony buttons, the guitar ensures precise tuning stability while adding to a luxurious feel. Completing the package is a custom Taylor case with a British Cocoa finish, providing stylish protection for this exceptional instrument.

The collection launches with two wood pairings: Honduran rosewood with torrefied Sitka spruce, and figured Hawaiian koa with torrefied Sitka spruce. Andy’s recipe for a new/old voice. Andy wanted a warmer, older, “heritage” sound—something more like a generation before Taylor Guitars was founded (1974); more like the traditional flat-top sound of the 1930s, but with the established advantages of V-Class, including enhanced volume, sustain, responsiveness, and pitch accuracy between notes.
