Description

Taylor 810E Legacy

The Legacy Collection culminates a year-long celebration of Taylor Guitars' 50th anniversary. The three 800 Series models hark back to the early Dreadnought and Jumbo designs created by Bob Taylor, but at the same time they are not simple reissues of fifty-year-old guitars: where appropriate, the instruments have been enhanced with contemporary features. The first 100 instruments have an inner label personally signed by Bob Taylor and Kurt Listug.

The front of the 810e Legacy Dreadnought is made of Sitka spruce, while the back and sides are made of Indian rosewood. The shape of the body and headstock is slightly more current than the very first models. The mahogany neck is glued to an ebony fingerboard with twenty frets. The patented neck design (previously known as the NT neck) allows for detailed adjustment and therefore great playability over the years. The X-bracing corresponds to the Jumbo and Dreadnought designs before the arrival of Andy Powers (2011). Fretboard orientation is facilitated by mother-of-pearl diamond-shaped position markers.

The strings are held by nickel tuners and an ebony fingerboard in a modern Taylor shape. The beautiful workmanship is accented by white perimeter binding, green abalone rosette, ebony bridge pins with mother-of-pearl dots (Abalone) and imitation tortoise shell pickguard.

The guitar's sound system is provided by LR Baggs Element VTC electronics with an under-saddle pickup and Volume and Tone controls discreetly located in the instrument's soundhole.
