OVERVIEW OF THE HIWATT SUPER-HI 33 TUBE AMP HEAD

The Super-Hi 33 Head is a high-gain amp head that combines the classic power section of Hiwatt amplifiers with a cascaded gain preamp section. Based on the Custom Super-Hi amplifier, this circuit is designed to deliver modern gain. The two channels have separate gain and volume controls, plus an independent "Super-Hi" boost to push them to the limit, for a total of four different gain and volume levels. The Super-Hi 33 uses 6V6 tubes in the power section for a solid yet defined bass response even at lower volumes. With high gain in the preamp, an FX loop is essential to ensure ambient and time-based effects are always crisp and clear. The three-position Depth control allows for fine-tuning of the low-frequency response. The front panel also features Bass, Middle, Treble, and Presence controls. On the back, there's the effects loop and the connection for the TRS footswitch, which allows for channel switching and boost control. Finally, there are two speaker outputs with selectable impedance between 16, 8, and 4 Ohm.
