For many enthusiasts, it's the particular interaction of the user interface and sound engine that makes Sledge a great instrument. A quick glance at Sledge shows the generous set of controls available to directly interact with the sound engine. When you touch the knobs and switches on the front panel, you immediately become aware of the meticulous attention to detail that engineers have refined over many decades, building one of the best electronic keyboards. You will experience the logical setup of the synthesizer modules, which reflect the signal flow of a classic analog synthesizer. But what truly distinguishes any synthesizer is its sound. Fortunately, Waldorf Music has happily shared their experience and know-how on this crucial part of the Sledge Synthesizer. Thus, a state-of-the-art Waldorf DSP core was used in Sledge. The result is enough power to seriously challenge the foundations of your studio. And a lot of detail, to create the richest analog pads you could ever want. In addition to the classic analog synthesizer waveforms, you will find a complete set of Wavetables derived directly from the mother of all digital synthesizers, the PPG Wave. The sum of the three oscillators, plus a noise generator, are fed into Sledge's powerful multimode filter with selectable 24/12dB slope. Easily recognizable Waldorf filter algorithms allow for a wide range of sounds. Two LFOs plus an extra Wheel-LFO are on board to offer enormous, yet easy to understand, modulation possibilities. Two effect units offer sophisticated effects such as Chorus, Flanger and Phaser, as well as rich reverb or Delay. The best thing: if you are familiar with the operation of a classic analog synthesizer, you won't have to spend precious time reading the manual. There are no double or multiple functions on knobs or buttons. All synthesizer parameters are clearly and ergonomically arranged before your eyes, accessible under your fingertips.
