Description

Strymon Zelzah Phaser Pedal Effect

DUAL PHASER GUITAR PEDAL EFFECT

Zelzah combines a vintage-inspired four-stage phaser and a more experimental six-stage phaser, to be used in series, parallel, or on two separate outputs.

In the realm of boutique guitar effects, Strymon's quality and its focus on researching and developing products that instantly capture the attention of musicians are undisputed.

The pedal incorporates two independent phasers, based on original algorithms and equipped with carefully calibrated controls to offer musical results in all conditions.

The circuits can work independently or in combination, with stimulating results.

The two phasers originate from separate circuits, individually activated via the footswitches at the bottom. The two "halves" of the pedal differ in sound, technology, and expressive possibilities, while offering mirror interfaces. On the left, a four-stage phaser offers retro timbres, while the six-stage phaser on the right generates more elaborate and colorful modulations.

The circuits can be activated individually, summed in series, in parallel to the output, or used on completely separate chains by utilizing the dual inputs and outputs located on the top edge of the chassis, next to the power socket.

For both phasers there are dedicated Speed and Depth controls. A third knob adjusts the Mix for the phaser on the left and the Voice parameter on the right. Voice controls an original algorithm that modifies over thirty parameters simultaneously, ranging from the extreme tones of a flanger to the soft and deep timbres typical of choruses.

For each circuit there is a three-position selector.

On the four-stage phaser, it switches the Sweep settings between Classic, Barber, and Envelope.

The first activates a single LFO with a triangular wave for a vintage approach.

The Barber owes its name to the classic colored cylinder displayed outside barber shops, as the sound seems to recall the continuous upward or downward movement of the spirals drawn on those curious rotating signs.

On the six-stage phaser, the selector controls three levels of Resonance, to recall gradually more extreme, articulated, and movement-rich settings.

Designed and built with the intention of creating a high-quality, refined product, in line with the boutique nature of the Strymon catalog, the Zelzah offers all the control possibilities and essential functions for fans of the brand.

It is therefore possible to select between true bypass or buffered, and you can rely on the MIDI protocol via TRS jack or USB cable to manage control changes, synchronize the MIDI clock, and store up to 300 presets.
