The new Strymon Riverside is the culmination of a long and in-depth analysis of numerous analog and tube circuits. Strymon's goal? To unleash a new world of saturated and non-saturated sounds, harmonically rich and incredibly versatile, inspired by and with the character of tube amps.

The aim was not simply to build yet another distortion pedal, but rather, after a thorough study of what has been done, to bring a completely new approach to the world of distorted sounds.

Riverside's cascaded gain stages create harmonically rich, and immensely musical and natural sounds, from crystal clear clean to extreme distortion, and everything in between. The analog input and output sections ensure that the Riverside responds to the guitar with uncompromising dynamics and feel. The extreme precision of the customized DSP, on the other hand, generates dynamic complexity and pleasant harmonics at every stage, allowing the amplifier to respond optimally at any gain level.

The Riverside's continuously variable circuit dynamically controls multiple parameters within the pedal; as you turn the Drive knob, the Riverside makes continuous adjustments, fine-tuning the circuit for the best possible sound. There are also two operating modes: Low Gain/Hi Gain and Normal/Mid Push. All of this translates into an incredibly versatile overdrive pedal, equally capable of delivering crystal clear clean sounds, light overdrives, high-gain distortions, and extreme saturations.

Riverside allows you to save and recall a different preset from the current front panel setting. It's just like having two pedals in one!

By connecting the Riverside's Boost output to the EXP input of another Strymon pedal with a favorite switch using a stereo cable, you can instantly recall the Favorite presets of both pedals!

The Riverside also features two controls with secondary functions, which are activated by holding down the main footswitch (and which can be stored in the Favorite preset):

- an optional noise reduction function with variable threshold, to remove noise and hum even when not playing.

- a Boost function, which allows you to raise the Riverside's output volume by up to +6dB. It is also possible to activate this function via footswitch, by connecting a Strymon Favorite Switch to the Boost output (sold separately).

By connecting an expression pedal to the Riverside's EXP input, you can control one or more Riverside parameters, and enjoy a new level of instant continuous control. This same input, in Volume mode, provides logarithmic volume control, a very valid alternative to an independent volume pedal.
