The Sonic Solutions TRUE CONNECTION, based on our SS[ONE] cable, dynamically adapts pickup impedance to the input of digital sound generators. It’s the perfect cable for anyone generating their sound with an audio interface (whether at home, in the studio, or live), or for those using amplifier emulators or profilers, as well as those using pedalboards equipped with buffers or buffered pedals. The sound becomes softer and more musical in the mid-high range, less shrill, more natural. There’s a close relationship between pickup impedance and the load provided by the input of tube amplifiers: with the new TRUE CONNECTION cable, this relationship is also established with digital equipment.

The Sonic Solutions TRUE CONNECTION cable originated from a need and an intuition by Massimo Varini, who enlisted the fundamental collaboration of Sound Guru and builder of technologies for guitarists Marco Brunetti, and the Sonic Solutions Technicians (part of Quik Lok) to create, once again, a 100% Made in Italy product, guaranteed for life!

QUIK LOK - Sonic Solutions TRUE CONNECTION

Digital systems have now become an integral part of a guitarist's setup. The benefits in terms of practicality and cost are incredible; but something has been lost... The input stage of amplifiers and the output of guitars have electrical characteristics that must be considered when connecting them. Cable "capacitance," "impedance," and "pickup resonance" can completely alter the instrument's timbre if not properly balanced. Those who use amplifier emulators, profilers, digital preamps, multi-effects, or buffers in their pedalboard will find the true and natural sound of a direct, genuine, and neutral connection between electric guitar and amplifier in the TRUE CONNECTION. The most evident results are with single-coil pickups (or split humbuckers), especially in positions where pickups are used in pairs (such as in typical Strat positions 2 and 4); the sound becomes warmer, less shrill, losing the "acidic" part of the sound and gaining in warmth and dynamics; from the most distorted and rock sounds to the warmest or brightest cleans. TRUE CONNECTION uses the SS/ONE cable, which works in symbiosis with circuitry designed in the domain of fundamental frequencies for the guitar. The guitarist will thus have access to the entire tonal range, balanced and respectful of their instrument's characteristics; bassists will find the same benefits.

Massimo Varini:

I've always used vintage amplifiers, pedals, and guitars... but now the use of digital equipment has become essential (for practicality). However, for those who pay attention to sound quality, dynamics, and the instrument's response when using the pickup switch and volume knob, things have changed dramatically. Together with Marco Brunetti, a Sound Guru and friend with whom I've collaborated for over 25 years, we found a solution to achieve a "true" dynamic response, a True Connection with one's sound generator!

Marco Brunetti:

Each pickup has its specific impedance (its electrical characteristic) which, however, greatly influences the sound depending on the combination/configuration of which and how many pickups we use together on the guitar. This impedance varies with the frequency of our sound, and when coupled with that present on the input of amplifiers, it is an integral part of the sound. This coupling can change in the high (or low or mid) range, making the sound unpleasant and unnatural. We tried to recreate the correct impedance matching present between passive guitars and tube amplifiers, with a cable that allows a similar response even when connecting the guitar to digital devices or buffers or buffered pedals. For this reason, the name "True Connection" was chosen: a bit of analog scent for those who use digital, the true human/guitar/amplifier connection!
