WGK20 - Wind Gong Kun, 20 inches / 50 CM. Kun represents the feminine part of the earth and is a pronoun for mother and woman. Kun is also one of the eight Chinese trigrams. Meinl Sonic Energy Wind Gongs are traditionally handcrafted in China using a special bronze alloy. These gongs are also known as Feng or Sun Gongs and have an almost flat shape. This shape allows the gong's voice to fully open with a wide tonal spectrum and a long sustain. Low tones are more dominant at low dynamics, but playing with more vigor allows the gong to open up well and produce full overtones. Each gong comes with a beater and a cover.
