OSTD1BK - A4/a' 440 Hz / D3/ A3, Bb3, C4, D4, E4, F4, G4, A4 The Meinl Energy Octave Steel Tongue Drum is made of high-quality stainless steel. It has a main note in the center, plus eight notes around the circumference. These eight notes feature two tongues each, with a different octave. This creates an extraordinary, meditative sound similar to that of a handpan. There is a sound hole on the bottom, which can be closed with a silicone plug to control the sound. Three silicone feet prevent the instrument from slipping. You can play the Steel Tongue Drum with mallets or with your hands; just place it on a flat surface or on your lap. The Meinl Energy Octave Steel Tongue Drum includes two wooden mallets with rubber heads and a carrying case with a handle and zipper closure.
