The Solid State Logic UMD192 is a powerful portable USB audio interface designed to meet the needs of the most demanding professional environments: live sound, broadcast, and professional studios.Thanks to the complete integration of MADI, Dante, and USB protocols, the UMD192 offers flexible routing, a high number of channels, and uncompromising performance for recording, playback, and format conversion.The SSL UMD192 can handle 192 channels at 96 and 48 kHz or 128 channels at 192 kHz, all in a compact and portable half-rack unit format. Designed for maximum versatility, the UMD192 supports bidirectional audio between any pair of formats – MADI, Dante, or USB – allowing the third format to receive a split signal. This makes it ideal for connecting multiple MADI devices to a Dante network, or for high-channel recording and playback via USB 3.0.On the networking front, the UMD192 offers fully interoperable Dante AoIP, with AES67 and ST 2110 support (with DDM) and ultra-low Dante latency down to 0.25 ms. Clock options are flexible, selectable from MADI or Dante, with sample rates from 44.1 to 192 kHz. Thanks to its six MADI pairs on BNC, the UMD192 can also be configured in redundant mode, allowing three dual-redundant MADI connections, essential for critical broadcast and live applications.While the UMD192 is a natural choice for live sound, its flexibility also makes it extremely effective in many other professional contexts. From music recording/mixing in broadcast – especially in combination with SSL System T – to high-channel studio sessions, the UMD192 ensures seamless integration and reliable performance.The UMD192 is also an ideal interface for Harrison 32Classic systems with Dante, and is perfect for SSL Oracle or ORIGIN installations with Dante or MADI converters. At the same time, the UMD192 represents a powerful solution for non-SSL console users in live, broadcast, studio, and post-production environments.The front panel of the UMD192 offers clear, high-visibility indicators, with real-time feedback on signal flow, sample rate synchronization, power status, and network connectivity, ensuring total control even in the most critical situations.The UMD192 supports multiple power sources – AC, Power over Ethernet (PoE), and USB – offering great flexibility and the ability to create redundant systems. Each source can be used individually - furthermore - PoE can be combined with an external power supply to ensure power redundancy.The UMD192 is a class-compliant digital audio interface that operates natively with macOS Core Audio, with no additional drivers required. Simply connect it, select SSL as the audio device in System Settings, and start working immediately.
