SL73 STUDIO expands the choice in the SL Controller line, offering a combination of lightness and the functionalities of this keyboard line. A new, particularly easy and intuitive user interface has been introduced on these instruments, with the contribution and collaboration of an international team of musicians. The user interface of SL73 STUDIO is centered around the backlit TFT color graphic display (320x240), integrated with physical controls such as navigation encoders and 3 Joysticks for refined control of connected instruments. SL73 STUDIO is compatible with the free downloadable computer editor (PC/Mac) from Studiologic, allowing USB editing of parameters and complete management. Its USB connection to the computer does not require additional driver installation.

The SL73 STUDIO Keybed

SL73 STUDIO adopts Studiologic's most advanced Keybed technology to reproduce the tactile sensation of a real piano mechanism. TP/100 is significantly lighter than any other keybed; each key has 3 contacts for dynamic detection, with significantly higher precision; offering an excellent sense of fluidity and authenticity of touch, which allows for the execution and control of a wide range of dynamic nuances.

SL73 STUDIO Design

SL73 STUDIO weighs less than 14 kg and is built with a robust and durable metal casing that withstands movement during live situations such as tours or concerts. The keyboard itself is made easier to transport by specially designed, extremely resistant molded plastic grip points.

Immediate Function Access

The user interface of SL73 STUDIO is the result of combining an excellently visible TFT color display with 6-way control knobs, which allow quick and logical navigation through all its functions, such as switching between the four zones into which the keyboard can be divided. This is achieved by simply moving the controller, then clicking and turning the knob again to select and adjust the desired parameter. Simple, intuitive, and fast! In addition, the three buttons to the right of the knob return to the top level of the system from any position.

Real-time Control

SL73 STUDIO has 3 assignable X/Y Joystick controllers for controlling and modifying sound parameters.

• Joystick 1 with automatic center return allows movement in both X/Y directions. Its typical use is for pitch and modulation control.


• Joystick 2 has automatic center return only for the X direction.


• Joystick 3 is free on both X/Y axes and is therefore ideal for controlling parameters such as panning or crossfade, or other continuous parameters.

All three controls are made of aluminum and are extremely solid and balanced under the fingers.

The Magnetic Rail System

The innovative magnetic rail system on the rear panel of SL73 STUDIO allows for easy installation of a music stand, or a support plate for a laptop, tablet, or simply for sheet music. It works simply and ingeniously: just click the supports into the rear panel and move them to match the required position for installing accessories.

Remote Control of SL73 STUDIO

The free Software Editor (PC/Mac) allows configuration of SL73 STUDIO directly from the computer, controlling all keyboard functions from there. Its clear and ergonomic user interface makes creating and modifying all parameters a simple and quick task. The USB connection does not require additional driver installation.

Designing the dynamic curve of SL73 STUDIO

SL73 STUDIO features the exclusive Key Balance function, which modifies the dynamic response by calibrating the balance between white and black keys with the simple rotation of a knob, or even by individually adjusting each key on the screen, to meet every type of performance need.

System Setup

SL Editor has a clear and intuitive user interface that mirrors the instrument's internal editing structure, expanded onto a single screen; this way, every parameter can be easily adjusted, while all changes are synchronized in real-time with the instrument connected via USB.

Organizing Musical Projects

The editor allows you to manage and organize your musical projects; it functions as a database and backup system for the SL73 STUDIO. You can manage and fine-tune every live or studio operational situation by simply dragging and dropping Programs, groups, or even entire data packages quickly and securely.

Modifying the Dynamic Response of SL73 STUDIO

The Touch button on the SL73 STUDIO allows you to change, load, or modify the internal Velocity curves, based on configuration and technical and performance preferences. Soft, Medium, and Hard are the predefined response curves, designed by Studiologic. In addition, you can set personal velocity curves by inserting various points and connecting them with lines, allowing detailed control over the relationship between key velocity and output dynamic value. You can program a curve from scratch or import one and adapt it to your needs. Personal response curves can be stored in 6 locations.

Key Balancing

The exclusive Key-Balance function allows you to modify the dynamic response for each individual key, draw new dynamic curves, and balance the Velocity ratio between white and black keys; all with a single control and with the help of a graphical MIDI Meter feedback; simply drag and drop individual keys to the desired value on the balance line, or draw an entirely new curve by holding down the right mouse button while moving the cursor in the balance area, every result is immediately verifiable.
