The Invader’s power comes from the combination of specially overwound coils, three large ceramic magnets, and its striking oversized metal oxide pole pieces. These extraordinary pole pieces expand the overall magnetic field and widen the frequency spectrum, which is why every note played through an Invader sounds so rich and massive. The ceramic magnets add depth and clarity, while the large hex caps offer even balance between the strings. The Invader offers the thickest, deepest low-end response of any passive pickup we make. Chords sound almost subsonic with lower tunings, but balance well with crisp highs, keeping everything well-defined. While the Invader bridge looks mean and vicious, because it is mean and vicious, the Invader neck humbucker is surprisingly warm and smooth, despite its intimidating appearance, and produces a strong crunch and sustained wail. Hand-built in our Santa Barbara, California factory, the Invader features three large ceramic bar magnets, oversized metal oxide pole pieces, a nickel silver bottom plate, 4-conductor lead wire for multiple wiring options, and is vacuum wax potted for squeal-free performance.
