11104-08-Gc Set of humbuckers specifically voiced by Slash to give all his Les Pauls that Appetite for Destruction tone. When Slash had the honor of having a Gibson Les Paul Signature model built, we used the same Alnico 2 Pro humbuckers he had been using for decades. It turned out the new guitars sounded remarkably different from the original. So, we took on the challenge of making him a new pickup that would make all his new signature guitars sound just like the original AFD Les Paul. The result is the Slash Signature humbucker model. We used a different magnetic wire and winding specifications which, when combined with the Alnico 2 bar magnet, provided exactly what was needed to push a standard Les Paul towards that familiar sustain, crunch, and midrange that were so characteristic of the tone of the original Derrig Les Paul, copied for Slash. Slash humbuckers are hand-built in Santa Barbara in the same way we built his originals in the 80s, with a nickel silver bottom plate with long mounting legs, single-conductor braided lead wire, maple spacer, paper tape, and wax potting.
