Seymour Duncan APH-2N Slash Alnico II Pro HB Blk

Description

11104-06-B Humbucker Set specifically voiced by Slash to give all his Les Pauls that Appetite for Destruction tone. When Slash was honored with a Gibson Les Paul Signature model, we used the same Alnico 2 Pro humbuckers that he has used for decades. It turns out that the new guitars sounded remarkably different than the original. So, we accepted the challenge to make him a new pickup that would make all of his new signature guitars sound just like the original AFD Les Paul. The result is the Slash Signature humbucker model. We used a different mag wire and winding specs that, when combined with the alnico 2 bar magnet, provided exactly what was needed to push a stock Les Paul toward that familiar sustain, crunch, and midrange that was so characteristic of the tone of Slash's original, copied-for-Slash Derrig Les Paul. The Slash humbuckers are hand built in Santa Barbara the same way we built his originals in the 80s, with a nickel silver bottom plate with long mounting legs, single-conductor braided hookup wire, maple spacer, paper tape, and wax potting. ´´Post script´´, in case you were wondering, yes, the set you buy is exactly the same as what Slash's famed guitar tech, Ace Bergman, installs in Slash's guitars. When the boss needs some new APH-2s, we pull them right out of production stock.
