The HD600s have a shape similar to Sennheiser's high-end models: the large oval earcups completely enclose the ear very comfortably, allowing for extended listening that is never annoying or tiring for the ear. These headphones could be described as "extra-open". Acoustic isolation is practically non-existent.

The open design, on the other hand, improves comfort by allowing good breathability and avoiding the feeling of having completely blocked ears.
