Description

Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 4th Generation is a 24bit/192kHz USB audio interface, featuring two inputs switchable between XLR, with microphone preamps offering a generous 69dB of Gain, and jack line/instrument. New Air function, with and without saturation. Virtual Loopback channel. Halo Meters also on the Monitor output (2 ¼” jacks). Separate volume controls for Master and Headphone outputs.
Scarlett brings professional Focusrite audio quality wherever you are making music. The 4th generation Scarlett series features new microphone preamps with enhanced gain, providing up to a solid 69dB of gain, new converters derived from the Rednet series ensuring a dynamic range of 116dB on inputs and an impressive 120dB on outputs. The headphone output has also been optimized, both in terms of impedance (around 300Ohm) and dynamic range and power.

With the 4th Generation Scarlett 2i2 USB audio interface, recording and publishing your songs is easier than ever. Two quality microphone preamps with a full 69dB of Gain, professional-grade converters with a 120dB dynamic range, like those you’d find in a high-end recording studio. Air mode allows you to record with the style of a large studio console. Optimal sound from any headphones thanks to the dedicated output, which has been improved in your Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 4th Generation to work even with high-impedance headphones. A complete DAW software and plug-in kit includes 3 months of Pro Tools Artist, Ableton Live Lite, and the Focusrite Hitmaker bundle which gives you access to Auto-Tune Access, Softube Marshall Silver Jubilee 2555 for electric guitar, the Native Instruments® MASSIVE virtual synth, and much more. Focusrite Scarlett is the most used USB audio interface in the world. Join a community of over six million artists, including some of the biggest names in international music.
In the Scarlett 2i2 4th Gen audio interface, the XLR and Jack inputs are now separate, no longer COMBO. The connectors are from Neutrik, and the jack has priority over the XLR: if a jack connector is inserted, the microphone input and its preamplification will be automatically disabled.
The Rednet series converters
With Scarlett 2i2 4th Gen, you record with 192 kHz/24-bit converters identical to those in Rednet interfaces, the flagship series of the Focusrite catalog found in countless professional recording studios worldwide. Capture every sonic detail.
Auto Gain and Halo Meter
Visual level control across the entire Gain Staging chain. Scarlett's dynamic Halo Meter LEDs allow you to set input Gain levels easily and quickly with any sound source. As of today, the Scarlett 2i2 also features the Halo Meter on the output, so the circumference of the potentiometer dedicated to setting the volume of your 4th Generation Scarlett's Monitor output will light up to give you an indication of the output level and any distortions. On your Scarlett 2i2 4th Gen's inputs, you can activate Auto Gain: press the button and play for ten seconds, Scarlett will set the perfect level for whatever you're recording.
Always top-notch recording with Scarlett 2i2!
Clip Safe is the new useful function to preserve your played parts if the maximum input level, i.e. 0dBFS, is exceeded. When active, the signal will be subjected to level analysis with a resolution of 96000 points per second, then implement a combination of automatic adjustments in analog, on the preamps, and digitally via DSP. This combination of Auto Gain and Clip Safe will make your recordings simpler and more immediate: focus on the performance and less on the controls.
Air Mode: The iconic Focusrite sound
The renowned Air function, created to emulate the sound of Focusrite's historic analog consoles, has undergone a significant improvement in this fourth generation series: analog presence and DSP-based saturation. We are free to apply only the analog or both as we wish. Make your recorded tracks stand out in the mix. Once you've tried it, you won't be able to do without it.
Improved headphone listening
A custom-designed headphone amplifier, with an impedance of 300 Ohms and an enviable dynamic range, creates the perfect conditions for the best sound reproduction you've ever achieved from a Scarlett interface. Thanks to independent volume controls on the headphone output and the Master monitor output, you can record, mix, and play audio by setting the levels of the two outputs as desired. Even high-impedance headphones will now sound louder and more linear with your fourth-generation Scarlett.
Loopback with all Scarlett 4th Gen
Do you want to sample from other software? Do you want to receive and process audio signals played by other applications in your DAW software? With the Loopback connection, you can transmit stereo audio from your music apps and other software directly into your favorite DAW software thanks to the virtual inputs of Scarlett 2i2.
