In 1985, the innovative Roland JX-8P took hybrid synthesis a step further, with an irresistible new analog-digital voice. The instrument was immediately adopted by top session musicians, who quickly exploited its warm pads, gleaming chorus, and crystalline textures for the most famous songs of the era. The JX-08 reintroduces the unique sound of this sought-after classic with absolute detail, along with powerful new effects, a polyphonic sequencer, and much more. And to improve your creative workflow, there is an entire panel of direct controls, derived from the dedicated PG-800 programmer unit for the original hardware.

While retaining the original JX-8P design in this modern version, the introduced updates take the experience to a whole new level. Explore over 100 new patches optimized for contemporary styles or use the internal controls to design your own sounds. And with expanded polyphony, two-part multi-timbral capabilities, and dual/split modes, there's even more room to express your sonic ideas. And once you've found your sounds, you can save new creations for instant recall using the 256 preset slots.

The JX-08 includes 17 powerful effects, many of which are new to the Roland Boutique line. Refine your JX patches with classic chorus, phaser, and delay, or beef them up with overdrive, fuzz, bit crusher, and the new lo-fi compressor. Filters and pitch shifters are also available to add further dimension and character to your sounds.

After creating your patches, take advantage of the two-part polyphonic sequencer and start programming leads, bass lines, or basic chords synchronized with other components of your electronic ensemble. And to add animation and movement to your sounds, make the most of motion recording and the internal arpeggiator to make your musical lines dance.

The JX-08 features a built-in audio/MIDI interface via USB-C, so you can play, record, and sync with all types of computer production software. Standard MIDI input and output are also available to interface with other MIDI hardware. And there's also an external clock input, to drive the JX-08's internal sequencer and arpeggiator from vintage analog instruments and modern Eurorack systems.

With its compact size, the JX-08 fits anywhere and is easily controlled from a master keyboard or DAW. It can run on standard AA batteries for hours of free jamming, and there's also an internal speaker for sound monitoring when you're on the go. Add a DK-01 Boutique Dock for a refined and elegant look, with its three practical tilt positions, or choose a K-25m Keyboard to create a truly complete and portable instrument.
