Description

RME presents the Fireface UCX II, a new version of one of its most successful projects ever, the Fireface UCX. With 40 I/O channels and a wide range of possible applications, the Fireface UCX II is the most valid and reliable compact professional audio interface in half-rack format on the market. The new RME product is also being presented on the occasion of the company's twenty-fifth anniversary: 25 years of innovation for the German brand, all clearly visible in this new, extremely flexible interface for studio use and live performance. The main features of the FireFace UCX II are 20 recording channels and 20 playback channels, SteadyClock FS technology, integrated parametric EQ, the possibility of direct USB recording thanks to digital DURec (Direct USB Recording) technology, and stand-alone functionality: currently, no other half-rack audio interface offers more connectivity and functionality. The Fireface UCX II integrates two mic/line preamplifiers in XLR combo format on the front panel, along with two digitally controlled line/instrument inputs, a headphone jack, various control buttons, a display, and the main volume potentiometer. On the back there is a set of ten balanced line inputs and outputs, MIDI, ADAT, AES/EBU and SPDIF inputs and outputs, a USB 2.0 connection, and a switchable Word Clock I/O. Thanks to digital DURec (Direct USB Recording) functionality, any input or output of the Fireface UCX II can be recorded directly onto a USB storage device. DURec uses integrated DSPs that allow it to operate stand-alone without the need for a computer. Potential applications in this mode include field recording, live and rehearsal recordings, or playback of recordings for a virtual soundcheck. With SteadyClock FS, the Fireface UCX II implements RME's most up-to-date clock technology. Based on an extremely detailed clock, SteadyClock FS reduces AD and DA conversion jitter in all digital formats to new lows. The Fireface UCX II comes with the TotalMix FX DSP software mixer which offers many routing and monitoring possibilities, as well as the DIGICheck analyzer which allows you to measure and analyze digital data provided in both directions with maximum precision.
