Description

This compact, portable and lightweight audio interface transports digital audio data in SPDIF and ADAT formats to Windows and Mac computers. The Plug and Play approach allows even less experienced users to install it easily. Its features, such as robust RME drivers, allow the Digiface USB to operate quickly, conveniently and efficiently.The Digiface USB is an interface with 4 optical ADAT/SPDIF I/Os and equipped with a high-quality 6.3 mm TRS jack analogue headphone output. Following in the footsteps of the famous HDSP Digiface (PCI interface with headphones and triple ADAT I/O), the Digiface USB connects more easily thanks to USB 2, which also powers the interface without the need for an external unit. In addition, the addition of another optical I/O provides 32 input and output channels even when ADAT is used.The analog output is dedicated to channels 33/34 and can be freely used thanks to TotalMix FX, RME's routing and monitoring solution that knows no limitations in the signal path. (The Digiface USB has no effects)Each individual optical port supports both ADAT (up to 8 channels) and SPDIF (stereo). The inputs automatically adapt to the signal format they receive, the outputs can be individually switched for ADAT and SPDIF operations. Supported formats are SMUX and SMUX4. Thus, working at 192kHz, 8 I/Os can be used in both SPDIF and ADAT format. Its small size and USB power make the Digiface USB a useful and versatile interface. It can also be used as a simple headphone amplifier for mobile operations.
