RME's First Preamplifiers for Audio NetworksThe RME 12Mic features twelve microphone and line inputs with uncompromising high-quality digital conversion, remotely controllable gain, integrated MADI and AVB connectivity, and a multitude of additional features, making this product the perfect companion for any professional recording setup.Twelve Transparent Mic Preamps for Exceptional Conversion PerformanceThe pad-free microphone input stage has a 75dB gain and accepts signals up to +18 dBu. From a conversion perspective, the signal-to-noise ratio is incredible across all channels (121.1 dBA). All front XLR connections accept both mic and line levels, while the first four connectors are also TRS compatible, with high-impedance HI-Z switches for instruments.MADI and ADAT for Maximum FlexibilityMADI I/O, both optical and coaxial, are available for independent or redundant operations and can be used for daisy-chain connections, as well as for combining and converting signals with incredibly low latency. Three optical ADAT outputs provide up to 24 channels of single-speed audio (for example, a combination of microphone inputs, MADI signals, and AVB signals), or 12 outputs at 96 kHz, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of audio interfaces. The ADAT port can also be used to send monitor mixes to an external headphone amplifier/DAC.Two Fully Redundant Network PortsFor the first time, RME offers an AVB product with two fully redundant network ports, based on the MILAN protocol recommendations. RME AVB technology has meticulously implemented IEEE standards for audio streaming and control, allowing RME products to be managed by any AVB controller, making manufacturer-specific protocols a thing of the past.
