Design and finishes of RK-100S 2-BLK

One element immediately noticeable on RK-100S 2-BLK is the elegance of its compact and thin design, inspired by the world of guitarists; the body of this Keytar is made of real natural wood with a transparent finish that highlights the grain, with attention to detail very close to the world of lutherie.

The sounds of RK-100S 2-BLK

On the RK-100S 2-BLK, the internal Programs have been significantly expanded, with particular attention to Lead Synth sounds or other solo sounds that particularly highlight the musician. Many modern sounds frequently used in the current music scene have been included, with 200 Presets already ready to use and able to satisfy all genres and styles. The overall sound of the instrument is dynamic and always clearly present in any mix. Thanks to the FAVORITE buttons on the top panel, it is possible to immediately select all the Presets needed for our Live Performance; a versatile arpeggiator with numerous Patterns is also available.

Dedicated Editor/Librarian for PC/Mac environment of RK-100S 2-BLK

The RK-100S 2-BLK can be completely reprogrammed according to personal artistic needs using the dedicated Editor/Librarian, which also allows data exchange between users and the loading of new sound libraries.

The Slim (thin) Keyboard

The RK-100S 2-BLK uses a 37-note Slim (thin) keyboard, designed without compromise to achieve maximum playability and keep the instrument's weight and size to a minimum.

The two ribbon controllers of RK-100S 2-BLK

The RK-100S 2-BLK has two ribbon controls: Ribbon Controllers that modify certain sound parameters in real time. The shorter ribbon located in the neck area controls Pitch Bend and modulation, while the longer one positioned in the keyboard area controls Pitch or Filter. In this way, the performer can create, for example, Sweeps of these parameters according to their inspiration or the musical needs of the moment. With the long ribbon, it is also possible to control the pitch of the sounds as an alternative to the keyboard, thus providing considerable room for experimentation or unconventional performances.

Battery operation

The RK-100S 2-BLK can be powered by six AA batteries, which provide up to 8 hours of continuous operation. Once powered, simply connect the instrument to headphones or a listening system and you can immediately start playing without worrying about power cables, which is very useful and efficient on a live stage. Of course, if necessary, an AC adapter (optional) can also be used.

The Vocoder of KORG RK-100S 2-BLK

The RK-100S 2-BLK is equipped with an input with a mini Jack (mono) connector for connecting a microphone to obtain the characteristic synthetic Vocoder timbre, an element that can further characterize any live performance. The input can also be used to connect an external sound source such as a smartphone, to be used as a player for backing tracks.

MIDI control functions

The RK-100S 2-BLK has extensive connections such as the MIDI OUT port and USB, which allow it to be used to control external units such as hardware sound modules, or virtual instruments on computers.
