With Nord Piano 6-88, the renowned Swedish brand evolves its line of digital stage pianos. The instrument features an 88-key weighted Premium Triple Sensor keyboard with precise touch and accurate dynamic detection. The sound generator offers two sections: Piano and Sample/Synth, with 4 simultaneous Layer/Split timbres and level adjustment via 4 dedicated Faders, monitored by specific LED Strips. Up to 6 independent and highly effective effects can also be applied to each section. Finally, Nord Piano 6-88 is compatible with the free Apps: Nord Piano/Sample Library, Sound Manager, and Sound Editor, allowing users to adapt it to their personal artistic needs.

Piano and Sample Synth can use two independent Layers, each of which can be used simultaneously in Split and Layer mode, processed by the versatile effects section and stored for immediate recall.

Thanks to the two available Layers in this section, it is now possible to layer an upright piano and an electric piano, or split the keyboard to play with two different acoustic pianos, or any other possible combination. The abundance of physical controls on the panel makes every operation immediate and intuitive. The volume of each Layer is adjustable via 2 dedicated Faders, while an equal number of LED Strips display their level; dedicated buttons allow you to modify the keyboard's dynamic response, the dynamic compressor, the Piano Filters, and sound selection. This section also simulates Advanced String Resonance, the complex sympathetic resonance interaction between acoustic piano strings that occurs when pressing the Damper pedal and lifting all the dampers.

The same user interface and operating logic also govern this section. We find two Faders and LED Strips for controlling and displaying levels, activation buttons for each layer, the A D/S R envelope, and sample selection—all controls at your fingertips for immediate adjustments. This section can also be configured according to personal needs with the Nord Sound Manager, and it is also possible to import personal samples using the free software Nord Sample Editor (Win/Mac).

We find two modulation stages MOD 1/2 with adjustable Rate and Amount, AMP the physical modeling simulation of amplifiers, an effective One Knob compressor, a 3-Band equalizer with selectable mid-range frequencies, Delay with Tap Tempo, Ping/Pong and the new Flam mode, and finally Reverb with 6 algorithms including a new Spring Reverb with Dry/Wet adjustment for each Layer.

In the central area of the instrument, the general control zone is located, where the highly visible backlit OLED display stands out, along with the transpose, keyboard split, and sound selection control buttons.
