The PDI06 is a power attenuator for live use. It is connected between the amplifier output and the loudspeaker cabinet. This allows you to achieve the desired tube power amp distortion while reducing the associated high volume. To meet the demands of stages and rehearsal rooms, the volume can be reduced from 100% to 18% in six different steps. At the next level, the PDI06 functions as a LOAD BOX and absorbs all speaker power, making it silent.

This operating mode is useful if, for example, you want to connect an amplifier with speaker emulation directly to a mixer via an existing line output, without generating noise in the recording room. The unit has an input for the speaker signal from the amplifier and an output for connecting a speaker cabinet.

The total impedance of the speakers must match the value indicated on the PDI06. Example: an 8 Ohm cabinet or two 16 Ohm cabinets can be connected to the outputs of an 8 Ohm PDI06 (the 16 Ohm version only has one output). The tube amplifier output is also set to 8 Ohms.
