Description

ARP ODYSSEY FS Kit is a user-assembly kit produced by Korg of the well-known duophonic analog synthesizer by Arp. Based on the analog circuit and with all the original specifications of the Rev. 3 model, this synth features a full-size 37-key keyboard and a black panel with orange lettering. Three different low-pass filter circuits are selectable via a switch. Assembling this Arp Odyssey is simple, thanks to the illustrated guide, and no technical knowledge or soldering is required.

The unique and distinctive sound with the ARP Odyssey FS kit

In 2015, the ARP sound returned to prominence with the re-release of the ARP Odyssey, astonishing and thrilling synthesizer fans around the world. From the ARP ODYSSEY FS, with its full-size keyboard, to the much-anticipated ARP 2600 FS and ARP 2600 M (click here for info/purchase), ARP synths were once again ready to dominate the music scene and the analog market.

Now, with the arrival of the ARP ODYSSEY FS kit, distributed in Italy by Algam EKO, modern musicians have the opportunity to experience the ARP legacy, the unique and distinctive sound of analog synthesis, at their fingertips. Staying true to the ARP Odyssey FS, the kit uses the same circuitry and offers the original, warm, rich sounds we've all grown to love. This instrument features all the original specifications of the Rev. 3 model, with a full-size keyboard and a black panel with orange lettering. An illustrated guide is included to facilitate assembly of the Odyssey; no technical knowledge or soldering is required.

The ARP Odyssey FS Kit is a unique collector's item. To confirm the uniqueness of the experience, the instrument distinguishes itself from any other ARP Odyssey thanks to its serial number engraved on an elegant metal plate. The coveted ARP sound that legendary musicians have used for the past 50 years is once again available, for you, for your passion as a sound designer, keyboardist, or music producer.

Full-size ARP ODYSSEY

Featuring a spacious panel with comfortable faders and a standard-size keyboard for excellent playability, this edition of the duophonic analog instrument is exactly what synthesizer lovers and keyboardists have been waiting for. Its weight and robustness perfectly represent the image of the original. A full-size ARP ODYSSEY, perfect in detail: from sound to stability, from appearance to size, but with the reliability of a state-of-the-art synthesizer.

The peculiar synthesis of the ARP Odyssey

The original ARP Odyssey was a 2 VCO duophonic instrument. Its main characteristic was its crisp, piercing sound and the rich range of tonal variations that could be generated through the wide modulation possibilities offered, from oscillator synchronization to sample & hold, from pulse wave amplitude modulation to the high-pass filter, from the two different envelope generators to pitch bend via PPC.

Three generations of ARP Odyssey in one

There were three versions of the original ARP Odyssey, distinguished by their production date, with the main difference being the filter circuit. This version of the ARP Odyssey provides all three low-pass filter circuits and allows you to select one using a dedicated switch. The TYPE I (Rev1) is a 12 dB/Oct circuit that produces a crisp, punchy sound. The TYPE II (Rev2) is a 24 dB/Oct filter for impressive bass. The TYPE III (Rev3) maintains excellent stability even when resonance is increased. These characteristic filters have been reproduced exactly as they were originally.

About the Alan R. Pearlman Foundation

Nicknamed "ARP" in New York City during his childhood, Alan R. Pearlman decided to use his nickname as the identifying name for the company dedicated to designing electronic musical instruments that he co-founded. After leaving NASA, Pearlman founded ARP, a company that stood out in the market thanks to synthesizers known for their sound quality. Pearlman created the ARP 2500 in 1970, then the classic ARP Odyssey and ARP 2600. Pearlman's recognized abilities included building oscillators that were always in tune and developing a wire-free patching technique using a switch matrix. Arp Instruments built a unique history by distinguishing itself as a leader in the growth and development of the electronic music market.

Founded in 2019, the Alan R. Pearlman Foundation was created by Dina Pearlman, Alan's daughter, to honor her father's legacy. The mission of the ARP Foundation is to celebrate Pearlman by making his inventions accessible to the public and inspiring future generations to imagine and create.
