NXT4a Electric Upright Bass is the 4-string electric upright bass from the NXTa series by NS Design. Equipped with the Polar™ system, it shares the design, ergonomics, and performance of the CR and EU series upright basses.

OVERVIEW

The NXTa series electric upright basses are made in the Czech Republic by the same craftsmen who produce the most advanced NS instruments. Thanks to the Polar™ Pickup System, the expressive potential of this instrument is unlimited, whether using a bow or pizzicato technique. A switch allows you to select the Bow mode for a percussive attack and dynamic bowed response, or Pizzicato for a soft sound rich in sustain when using your fingers.

Dual Mode Output
The NXT4a's Dual Mode electronics take the versatility and performance of this instrument to another level. By connecting the included power supply, you get up to 16 hours of performance with just 60 seconds of charging. The instrument, in active mode, can be connected to any low-impedance device, without the need for a D.I. Box. The absence of signal loss allows you to use even very long cables while maintaining full clarity on every note. The passive mode is useful when using either a D.I. Box or a high-impedance amplifier.

Eco-friendly operation
The NXT4a is battery-free, reducing costs and protecting the environment.

Construction
The body and neck are made of maple and, along with the graduated fingerboard, provide a rich, full tone on every note. The asymmetrical profile of the fingerboard ensures bright high notes and powerful low notes. The adjustable bridge and truss rod can be set for a low, fast action or a high action, similar to the style of acoustic upright bass players.

StandsDifferent stands are available, starting from the CR Tripod Stand (included), the Bass End Pin Stand (optional) up to the Boomerang™ Strap System and Frame Strap System (optional).

Push-Pull: located on the volume knob, selects active or passive mode;
Tone: adjusts the high frequencies;

Using the included Power Charger to recharge your instrument's preamp in seconds is really convenient. But what happens if you unfortunately forget or lose the Power Charger?

Don't despair! Although we do not promote the use of batteries, in this case the only two things you will need to charge your system are a stereo cable and a common 9V battery.

    

Insert the stereo cable into your instrument, touch the ring of the connector to the positive terminal and the sleeve to the negative terminal. Hold the position for about 60 seconds and play your instrument for a good 16 hours. The system will not be damaged if the connector/battery contact is accidentally made incorrectly.
