Numa Compact SE is the result of a careful restyling and technological upgrade of Numa Compact 2, Studiologic's compact Stage Keyboard. It now includes a new sound engine acquired from the Numa X Piano series, with greater polyphonic articulation, over 140 completely reprogrammed sounds, an expanded set of control parameters, 4 sound sections, and up to 6 simultaneous effects. Numa Compact SE also features an efficient speaker system and advanced connections including a USB MIDI and Audio port.

The Numa X Piano-derived sound engine produces acoustic piano sounds, using Stereo multi-samples with TrS (True Sound) technology. Many new acoustic piano samples have been introduced on Numa Compact, and important acoustic phenomena typical of the piano such as string resonance, undamped string resonance, key release noise, and pedal noise have been perfected, details that contribute to a more effective simulation.

This section of the Numa Compact SE, which generates electric piano sounds, employs an ingenious combination of samples and DSP effects to simulate the physical modeling technology of the Numa X Piano. In this way, the most typical sounds of the two main categories of this class of instruments have been recreated: "Tine" (tuned bars) and "Reed" (reeds), with independent control of the Tine and Damper noise. A wide timbral library is available, including many variations of the most well-known and useful electric pianos, including modern FM digital pianos.

On this section, a real electromagnetic organ model (Tonewheel) has been implemented, with an independent sound engine, and a wide timbral variety that includes the most representative organ models of this popular instrumental category. In addition to the generation system, the Vibrato/Chorus and the Rotary Speaker amplifier have been completely redesigned, along with the percussion controls, resulting in a great impact.

This sound engine gives Numa Compact SE true synthesizer performance thanks to virtual oscillators capable of generating a wide variety of waveforms, with a new set of parameters including Portamento, Staccato/Legato modes, polyphonic or monophonic articulation useful for creating effective original synth tones or simulating the most classic vintage sounds of these instruments.

Versatility of use

The original configuration of the Numa Compact SE can satisfy most artistic needs, starting with its compact size and low weight, ideal for all musicians on the go; to the advanced sound generation system that produces high-quality sounds and effects, extensively customizable, to the integrated speakers that allow autonomous use of the keyboard for daily practice, lessons, rehearsals, with the obvious possibility of connecting to an external PA for concerts, performances, or live events.

Control

The 88-key "piano style" semi-weighted keyboard with aftertouch allows precise expressive control of internal or external sounds, thanks also to the Master MIDI control of the DIN ports or the USB/Audio interface, which allows Numa Compact SE to be effectively used as a Master Keyboard even in a recording studio, connecting to DAW environments. The real-time control possibilities of this instrument are completed by the Pitch Stick and Modulation present on the panel, while a bright OLED display shows all sound selection or modification operations.

Expandability and Evolution

Numa Compact SE is compatible with the dedicated Software freely published by Studiologic: Numa Manager - click here to download, which allows updating the Firmware of the instrument, managing sounds, and above all, the possibility of loading new sound libraries released free of charge by the manufacturer. All these features guarantee the continuous evolution and growth of the instrument and its application possibilities.
