NS Double Bass Strings with both flatwound and roundwound windings, made specifically for us by D'Addario, are available as listed below. The instrument comes equipped with special strings sized to fit the shorter body of an electric instrument.

The flatwounds, standard on most models, are solid core flatwound strings, with a full, sustained tone and a responsive, easy-to-play string tension. The Roundwound Lights are very bright, with a remarkable articulation across the entire harmonic spectrum. Many professional musicians prefer smooth, Helicore-acoustic style strings, with their warm tone, percussive attack, and relatively high tension.
