G7th Newport 6 Steel String Black Capo

  • Capo for acoustic and electric guitars
  •
  • Black finish
  •
  • Thanks to its lightness and low profile, the G7th Newport capo is precise and fast to use
  •
  • It offers you the possibility to fine-tune and customize the adjustment once in position
  •
  • The modern Black finish perfectly matches any type of hardware

Preserves sound and protects the guitar neck
The enveloping features of the silicone rubber and the internal bar eliminate sound degradation and weakening, and prevent direct metal-to-wood contact on the guitar neck.

Faster and easier to use
You can easily adjust the capo tension once it's placed on the guitar neck.

Lighter and lower profile
Thanks to its low-profile design, the G7th Newport capo does not hinder or get in the way of your left hand while playing. The design of the Newport capo's tension lever is perfect for guitarists who prefer to manage capo tension with an adjustment knob. It is particularly suitable for instruments that are usually problematic to use with a capo, such as guitars with particularly high action or 12-string guitars.

New compensated string pad for 12-string guitars
Our compensated string pad allows you to act on all 12 strings simultaneously and with the same tension by compensating for different string gauges using the carefully designed ridges in the string pad rubber.

Can I use the same G7th capo on both acoustic and electric guitars?
Yes, you can use any of our 6-string steel string capos on both acoustic and electric guitars.

Are G7th capos for acoustic and electric guitars also suitable for classical guitars?
The vast majority of classical guitars have a flat, wide fretboard that requires a specific capo.
G7th produces a dedicated classical guitar capo in each of its series.

How do I attach a replacement rubber pad to my G7th capo?
First, make sure you have removed any excess glue and rubber from the capo.
Then simply secure the new one in place using cyanoacrylate-based super glue.

What is the best solution for a 12-string guitar?
For almost all 12-string guitars, we recommend the Newport 12-string capo or the Heritage 12-string capo, both with our brand new compensated pad.

Can you make a single custom capo?
Sorry, unfortunately, it is not possible.
The tooling costs to produce each model amount to tens of thousands of dollars, making them suitable only for mass production.

My guitar has a nitrocellulose finish: can I use a G7th capo without damaging it?
A nitrocellulose finish is usually quite durable.
However, the danger can arise when nitrocellulose comes into contact with additives or chemical agents that may be used in the processing of rubber components.
Small residues of these substances over time could soften and mark the finish.
For our capos, we use high-quality silicone rubber and all components are always cleaned before assembly and packaging.
Therefore, we do not expect you to have any problems with the rubber components used on our capos.
However, we advise you not to leave the capo on the guitar when not in use.
It is not good for the guitar and not good for the capo either.

Where are G7th capos produced?
All our capos are manufactured to the highest quality in our factories in China.
We have long-standing relationships with our manufacturers and visit them regularly.
Have you ever wondered why there are no cheap copies of Performance capos?
Because our clutch mechanism is extremely difficult to replicate and no one has succeeded in copying it.
This is testament to our manufacturing standards and quality level.

Is my G7th capo covered by a manufacturer's warranty?
Yes, a lifetime warranty.
