Impact GX49 and GX61 are expressive and dynamic instruments, designed for composing and playing while integrating with your computer music system. The highly efficient interface, designed without unnecessary complexity, is a major innovation introduced by Nektar.

The GX series features a 49-key / 4-octave (GX49) or 61-key / 5-octave (GX61) keyboard, pitch bend wheel, modulation wheel, and foot switch connector. Two multi-colored buttons allow you to shift the keyboard range down by 3 octaves or up by 4, while the LED color changes to indicate these variations. The GX series' equipment allows for an efficient workflow.

The GX series is also a powerful "traditional" MIDI controller. Even if you use MIDI software not directly supported by Nektar/DAW integration, you have a large number of options to configure the hardware to your liking.

You can use each of the 14 buttons, the modulation wheel, the footswitch, and of course the rotary control to send assignable MIDI messages.

Furthermore, the 14 assignable buttons can also be configured to manage Program messages or MMC transport controls. Thanks to MIDI Machine Control (MMC) support, used by DAWs that do not allow easy integration, the GX series is virtually universally compatible.

CONNECTIVITY & APPLE iOS

As a low-power USB device, the GX series works when connected to any hardware that manages MIDI drivers. This means all versions of Windows from XP onwards, Apple OS X 10.5 and later, and Linux (if a USB MIDI driver is installed).

And if you move around frequently, you can also easily connect your GX series hardware to an Apple iPad using the optional USB camera connection kit. Of course, in this case, the GX series works until the iPad battery runs out.

BITWIG 8-TRACK INCLUDED

To allow you to play and produce music immediately, the Bitwig 8-Track software is included with the GX series hardware.

With the Bitwig 8-Track DAW, you have over 50 software instruments and effects, and up to 8 audio or MIDI tracks, plus full compatibility with any VST plug-in.

The software material included with the GX series also includes the ‘Bitwig Essentials Package,’ a versatile selection of loops, clips, and audio samples... in short, you have everything you need to immediately develop your musical ideas, benefiting from Bitwig Studio's renowned workflow.

Thanks to Nektar/DAW integration, Bitwig 8-Track is directly supported by the GX series.

This hardware/software combination will provide great satisfaction, whether you are taking your first steps in the world of computer music or already have experience in this field.

Two other dedicated transpose buttons can be used to shift the range up or down by up to 12 semitones. These buttons can be easily reassigned and used to change the Global MIDI Channel or send Program messages. In addition, a potentiometer can be assigned to manage any MIDI parameter, with the default control being volume.

Seamless integration with many popular software makes the GX series easy and enjoyable to use. The controller becomes part of your system and allows you to compose, play, and perform without having to constantly use the mouse.
