DarkRay is the four-string electric bass by Ernie Ball Music Man designed in collaboration with Darkglass electronics. DarkRay includes a whole new range of sonic possibilities within an instrument with the iconic StingRay design.

The DarkRay model is characterized by the on-board preamp system with two EQ bands developed by Darkglass specifically for Music Man. The preamp offers three distinct modes that provide three useful and totally different sounds: Clean, Alpha (distortion), and Omega (fuzz). Both distortion circuits are fully controllable thanks to the gain and blend knobs standard on the pickguard.

With the distortions present on the DarkRay, you will have the possibility to switch from clean to heavy fuzz without losing presence and definition on the low frequencies. A circular LED and a three-way switch indicate the mode in use.

DarkRay is effectively a Stingray Special with a neodymium humbucker pickup, selected roasted maple neck, comfortable contoured body, 22 stainless steel frets, and the iconic headstock with the 3+1 tuner arrangement.
