MOTU ULTRALITE MK3 HYBRID FIREWIRE USB HYBRID AUDIO INTERFACE


Ultralite-mk3 Hybrid: MOTU has announced the UltraLite-MK3 Hybrid, the world's first FireWire/USB2 hybrid audio interface for Mac and Windows.


The UltraLite-MK3 Hybrid ensures simple, mobile operation via FireWire or Hi-Speed USB2 connection with a Mac or PC computer, providing professional-quality audio with sample rates up to 192 kHz, numerous I/O, including two mic/instrument inputs, six analog inputs, ten analog output channels, stereo S/PDIF, and stereo headphone output.


Using FireWire offers the added benefit of bus-powering for completely independent operation (no external power supply needed). The included power adapter can be used for USB2 connectivity, or for standalone mixer mode operation.


Other updates include computer control of the 48V phantom power pad for the two microphone inputs, simplified Pad switch (with only two states: -20 dB or off), and an increased microphone trim range (0-60 dB).


The UltraLite-MK3 Hybrid includes all the features of the previous FireWire-Mk3 version. It includes native 64-bit and 32-bit drivers for Mac OS X and Windows 7, Vista, and XP, including ASIO, WDM, Wave, Core Audio, and Core MIDI.


It supports all popular audio software for Mac and Windows. It includes AudioDesk software (full-featured, sample-accurate workstation) for Mac that allows 32-bit recording, editing, mixing, effects, all in real-time and sample-accurate sync. Plug-and-play with your Mac or PC via FireWire or USB2.

CueMix FX: 10 input/14 bus mixer with on-board DSP effects, including reverb with send/return, EQ and compression on every input and output
10 inputs / 14 outputs: there is no channel sharing in the UltraLite-MK3 Hybrid; microphone inputs, S/PDIF I/O, headphone output and main outputs are managed as separate channels
Classic Reverb: offers five different types of environments, three frequency cuts with adjustable crossover points, filter and reverb length up to 60 seconds
Two forms of compression: a standard compressor with conventional threshold/ratio/attack/release/gain controls and the Leveler™, a compressor based on the legendary LA-2A optical compressor, which provides automatic gain control
EQ: 7-band parametric equalizer modeled on British analog mixer EQs, with 4 filter styles (gain/Q profiles) to effectively cover a wide range of audio material. LP and HP filters are also provided with cuts ranging from 6 to 36 dB
CueMix mixing software: intuitive graphic mixing, graphic editing of the parametric EQ and a simple interface for quick access to all functions in a single window. It also provides full-screen real-time FFT display, waterfall spectrogram, oscilloscope, X-Y plot and linear or polar phase analysis
Front panel control: any UltraLite-Mk3 Hybrid setting can be accessed directly from the front panel
"Return Reverb" stream: allows users to record or mix the Reverb output of the UltraLite-MK3 Hybrid separately.
Stand-alone operation: program your mixes in the studio and then take the UltraLite-MK3 Hybrid to your gig without a computer. To edit the mix, you can use the backlit LCD display and front panel controls
Multiple CueMix FX Mixes: for example, create different mixes for the main outputs and headphones, or add loop send/return for outboard gear without latency
Two 1/4" combo jacks for instrument (guitar) inputs or XLR microphone input with phantom power, pad and gain
Eight 24-bit 192kHz balanced/unbalanced analog inputs and outputs on 1/4" TRS jacks
Precision Digital Trim: digitally controlled analog trim on all analog inputs (mic/guitar inputs + TRS jacks) allows precise adjustments in 1 dB increments.
Time Code Support: reads or generates Time Code directly through any input or output jack
Sample Accurate MIDI: allows you to connect a MIDI controller and/or an audio module without the need for a separate interface.
