Description

The MC404 CAE Dual Inductor Wah is the wah pedal from Jim Dunlop made in collaboration with Custom Audio Electronics that allows you to choose between two Fasel® inductors, with an integrated Boost/Line Driver circuit, internal Q and Gain controls, and a bright status LED.

OVERVIEW

The MC404 CAE was developed by Bob Bradshaw of Custom Audio Electronics and the Cry Baby design team, with the goal of creating a versatile wah with top-tier components. It features two Fasel inductors with two distinct voicings, one brighter and one darker, and an integrated MXR MC401 Boost/Line Driver that increases its flexibility. The MC404 features a True Hardwire Bypass system, a durable CTS potentiometer, and internal potentiometers to adjust the "Q" and Gain.

POWER

This pedal can be powered by a 9-volt battery or an AC adapter, such as the Dunlop ECB003, Iso-Brick, or Mini Iso-Brick (not included).

EXTERNAL CONTROLS

Boost Volume: adjusts the amount of gain added when Boost is activated;
Inductor switch: selects the red or yellow inductor;
Boost switch: adds an amount of gain set with the Boost Volume control.

INTERNAL CONTROLS

Top trimpot: controls the Q of the yellow inductor;
Bottom trimpot: controls the Q of the red inductor.
