MC401 is the Boost/Line Driver pedal for guitar and bass by MXR. Thanks to the Custom Audio Electronics circuit, this pedal solves problems related to different line levels and signal conditioning found in an effects chain.

OVERVIEW

MC401 is a Booster and Line Driver born from the historic collaboration between MXR and Custom Audio Electronics. The circuit design has been used for years by C.A.E. in the equipment of the world's best guitarists to solve line and signal conditioning issues, as well as to invigorate the brilliance and brightness that can be lost in a long effects chain. It can also be used as an ultra-clean boost to increase the gain of solos or to push effects for greater dynamics and sensitivity. On the front, it features a single knob to adjust the Gain, which goes up to +20dB. The pedal can be powered by a single 9-Volt battery or, alternatively, with a Dunlop ECB-003 or ECB-004 18-volt AC adapter (to increase headroom).
