The Kilimanjaro bass is the result of a strong collaboration between Richard Bona and Marco De Virgiliis, who, with this extraordinary instrument, have upheld the fundamental principle they share: no compromises. Richard is one of the most appreciated and respected musicians worldwide, and from the beginning of this project, he stated that he would never put his name (and his fingers) on an instrument that didn't offer the highest standards of quality. So Marco and his team used all their experience to create an instrument capable of meeting the highest production standards and all their business knowledge to offer such an exceptional instrument at a competitive price. Starting with the body shape with the smoothed bottom for those who play seated holding the bass in a classic position (a rather popular trend among bassists), then the lower cutaway designed to offer maximum access to the last fret, the extremely refined and comfortable neck that allows for extremely low action, and the innovative headstock designed step-by-step with Richard, where a single block of wood was used for the neck/headstock with a 7° angle without the need for a string tree.
