The name NAVIGATOR comes from Marco De Virgiliis' passion for the scientist Enrico Fermi and his place in the history of Physics. When Enrico Fermi fired up the first atomic pile named CP-1, the President of the United States was informed via a coded message alerting him "The Italian Navigator has just landed in the new world." Our Navigator F1 bass is named in honor of Enrico Fermi and his story.

For this instrument, we designed an original body shape, perfecting the pickups and their position. We used exclusively Val Di Fiemme spruce wood to create an ultra-light, ultra-resonant, and unique instrument. Our entire range of F1 instruments, inspired by Formula 1, are premium instruments made using a handcrafted production process, without any compromise in terms of sound or quality.

The NAVIGATOR F1 bass delivers the amazing sound you expect from a premium bass, enhanced by our proprietary Markbass electronics that provide the clearest frequencies for a truly powerful sound: simple, intuitive, and effective even with extreme settings and without volume variations when switching from passive to active and vice versa. The Markbass P and HB pickups,

and their position, have been chosen to offer ample tonal options, from a split coil P punch to a fat humbucker tone at the bridge, splittable into single coil for more J-style tones and everything in between.

For the NAVIGATOR F1 basses, we exclusively use Val di Fiemme spruce, not simply because it is locally available in Italy, but for its unparalleled characteristics that lead to truly unique instruments. We created an original body shape design, ergonomic and balanced, with maximum access even to the highest frets. And even if it's not a

standard industry shape, it still maintains elements of familiar styles that most bassists will appreciate.

Stradivari recognized the importance of Val di Fiemme spruce not only for its beautiful resonance and elasticity for bowed instruments, but also for its reduced weight. Marco De Virgiliis' preferences along with the Markbass philosophy lead us to always aim to have our original parts. This applies to most of the hardware present on our instruments, from tuners and bridges to Mark Strings.
