Description

The Silver Spring Reverb (SSR) is a compact, easy-to-use digital/analog reverb with a pure analog dry signal path. It creates a natural-sounding ambient reverb that doesn't get in the way of the original signal. The Silver Spring Reverb ranges from the warmth of an amplifier's spring reverb to the clarity of a studio reverb. There is no noise reduction system, in order to keep the decay as natural as possible. The dry signal path is all analog, passing directly through analog amplifiers without filtering. With the input set below maximum, there is no distortion or signal coloration. The reverb signal path is filtered to produce the natural ambiance of the Silver Spring reverb. The SSR sounds great with a clean signal, but it was specifically designed to work just as well with distorted sounds. The SSR can be used before distortion, although it was primarily designed to follow it. If using the SSR before distortion, a lower reverb setting (Wet/Dry) is recommended.Controls:TIME: Sets the reverb decay time. Turn clockwise for a longer decay. At the full counter-clockwise position, the decay is that of a small room. At the full clockwise position, the decay resembles the large hall sound of a plate reverb. Around the center, the medium decay time setting is optimal for rhythmic chords and single notes.TONE: Adjusts the bandwidth of the reverb signal. Turning clockwise results in a brighter reverb tone and counter-clockwise a darker one. Fully counter-clockwise approximates the response of a typical spring reverb, clockwise a studio reverb.REVERB:Adds reverb to the dry signal. Reverb can be completely turned off if the reverb knob is turned fully counter-clockwise and the volume is maxed out by turning fully clockwise.Technical Specifications:Power supply: 9V 6F22 battery or power supply Current consumption at 9V: 80mA Voltage range: 6.9V-9V Input impedance: 500 kOhm Output impedance: 10 kOhm Signal-to-noise ratio: 90 dB
