The Royal Blue Overdrive offers a wide range of tones, from a slight overdrive to heavy distortion, and at minimum, the Distortion knob setting works as an equalizer. It can also be used to create a "dynamic" effect similar to a tube amplifier. There isn't much filtering on the overdrive, so you get a transparent sound that you can customize with the Treble and Bass controls.Like the best boutique amplifiers, the Royal Blue OD allows you to determine the amount of saturation based on how hard you hit the strings and/or by adjusting the volume knob on your guitar.
