OVERVIEW OF THE MXR M222 TALK BOX

The Talk Box is a classic effect: you can hear it in some great songs of every genre, from 70s funk and rock to hard rock and metal. Its unique and expressive character is immediately recognizable. The MXR team has refined the Talk Box, adapting it to modern needs while maintaining the unmistakable character that made it legendary. With its own amplifier and speaker, the MXR M222 Talk Box is compact and pedalboard-friendly: no separate rig or direct connection to your amp's speaker output is needed. Plus, with Volume, Tone, and Gain controls, you can shape and add texture to the Talk Box voice to get the sound you want. Like all MXR pedals, the M222 Talk Box is built with a rugged enclosure. An 18-volt power supply, the tube, and a microphone clip to attach the tube to the stand are included in the box.

To use the Talk Box, connect your guitar to the input and, optionally, the pedal's output to your amplifier. Connect the tube to the appropriate input on the pedal and position it on the clip near the microphone. Once the pedal is activated, the guitar signal will no longer go to the amplifier but will be reproduced by the tube. It is therefore very important to position the tube so that the microphone picks up the signal that will go to the sound system. The tube will then be placed at the corner of your mouth between your back teeth. Without making vocal sounds, you move your mouth while playing to shape the guitar sound.
