Tru-Mic Technology

At the heart of the Anthem patent is a revolutionary type of microphone with a proprietary noise reduction system. The Anthem Tru-Mic eliminates the annoying "boxy" sounds usually associated with internal microphones, but captures the pure and natural sound of the guitar, in a way that only a true (external) microphone can.

Since the microphone is positioned a few millimeters inside the top of the guitar, it has a lot of gain before feedback. The microphone housing easily mounts on the bridge plate, and the microphone capsule sits just 3mm above its surface to take advantage of what is called the "boundary effect."

Tru-Mic technology picks up the sound of vibrations from the entire soundboard, making the microphone unusually free from positioning issues.

Microphone and Pickup, a completely new technology.

The sound quality and feedback resistance of the Anthem Tru-Mic now allow the microphone to be the primary sound source in a Microphone/pickup system. This system is not like previous ones where only a little sound captured by the microphone could be added to give "breath" to the dominant sound of the pickup. The Anthem establishes a radically new relationship between a microphone and a pickup, as all the details, warmth, and personality of the guitar are captured by the Tru-Mic. The microphone amplifies most of the sound, and for lower frequencies, the Element is used.
