Akai Professional LPD8 MK2 is a USB MIDI controller equipped with 8 rotary potentiometers and 8 velocity-sensitive pads that transmit MIDI note messages useful for playing virtual instruments, plugins, and DAW software, Control Change, or Program Change. The MPC-style pads, perfect for finger drumming, are RGB backlit.

Akai Pro LPD8 Mk2 is a class-compliant USB MIDI controller, universally compatible with all operating systems; it does not require any driver installation. This also makes it compatible with all latest-generation electronic musical instruments equipped with a USB type A port that supports external MIDI controllers: from the Force to the MPC series by Akai Professional, from the Nautilus to Korg's drumlogue, etc. With compact dimensions (306x81x34mm) and extremely light at only 390 grams, LPD8 MKII is powered directly from the computer via USB.

With the same velocity-sensitive and backlit (RGB) pads as the Akai Professional MPC X, Akai Professional LPD8 Mk2 allows you to physically control any sound or function of your favorite music software: from triggering clips in Ableton Live to playing audio samples (sounds or effects) of any software sampler, from live finger drumming performances to studio music production, from controlling functions and effects in DJ and VJ software to changing sounds in all those virtual instruments that support MIDI Program Change.

The 8 rotary potentiometers with a 270° travel will help you with physical parameter control and automation recording within your music software.

4 Programs directly in the AKAI PRO LPD8 MKII*

A software editor downloadable from the AKAI Professional website allows you to configure some additional functions, such as note messages, Control Change, and Program Change transmittable by individual pads and Control Change on rotary potentiometers. In addition, you can assign a color to each pad to your liking thanks to the RGB backlight control. Once you have created your preset settings in the editor, you can transfer them directly to your LPD8MKII USB MIDI pad controller to recall them at any time. There are a total of 4 Program memories (setting presets) that can be saved and recalled directly in this pad controller.

IMPORTANT:
AKAI Professional LPD8 MKII is a controller that generates and sends MIDI messages via USB useful for controlling software, applications, or musical hardware compatible with the universal MIDI standard. It does not have internal sounds and works exclusively by sending control messages that will be translated by your music software into sound, which will then output from your audio interface. The instrument therefore does not have an audio output.
