Description

This series of audio mixers from Alto Professional, named LIVE, stands out for the presence on the microphone channels of new preamplifiers with low self-noise and significant headroom, called DNA™. These preamps are integrated into an optimized signal path to preserve sound quality. Good headroom results in cleaner mixes, thanks to the containment of signal distortions, for a substantially more powerful sound, which is nevertheless faithful to the input signal.

The first microphone channels of the Live series mixers by Alto Professional are equipped with a special compressor that operates on individual channel strips through the combined control of multiple parameters from a single rotary potentiometer. There are two of these compressors in the LIVE 802 model (channels 1 and 2), four in the LIVE 1202 (channels 1 to 4), six in the 1604, and as many as 8 in the top model of the LIVE series, the 2404.

Another plus of this mixer series is the integrated multi-effect designed by Alesis. It is a 24-bit signal processor with 100 DSP effects from which the user can select the one to be applied via send to the various mixer channels. The effects include various algorithms for reverb, delay, flanger, chorus, tremolo, etc., also available as effect combinations (e.g., delay/reverb) or pre-set for specific applications (Vocal).

Alto Professional mixers are characterized by the presence of a USB port that acts as a class-compliant audio interface for connection to Windows PCs and Apple MacOS computers, useful for recording to/playing from the computer a 24-bit stereo audio channel (2 In/2 Out mono). By connecting these mixers via USB cable to your Mac or PC, you will add an audio interface with a stereo output and input (full duplex), to record the output signal from the mixer directly into your favorite audio software. In the Live 1604 and 2404 models, thanks to two selectors on the back, you can decide whether to send the signal reproduced from the Main Mix output or from the Sub Mix ½ of the mixer via USB to the computer, as well as route the computer's output - i.e., the signal reproduced by your software on the computer and sent via USB to the mixer - directly to the Master channel, or to a channel (15/16 in the 1604 model, 23/24 in the 2404) where it can be processed like any other source using EQ, etc..

Alto Professional Live 802: 6-channel audio mixer (4 mono/2 stereo)

The 802 model of the Live series mixers by Alto Professional provides 6 channels, of which 4 mono with XLR microphone and Line (¼” Jack) inputs, on which we find the insert connection for connecting external signal processors or multi-effects, a stereo channel (5/6) with ¼” Jack (L and R) inputs, potentially usable as an additional mono input given the presence of the XLR microphone connector. It concludes with an additional stereo channel - 7/8 - equipped with L/R ¼” Jack inputs. The channel strips of each channel provide, in addition to the 6cm fader: gain control, high-pass switch (only where an XLR input is present), 3-band equalizer, pan, and the two sends dedicated respectively to the auxiliary output (Aux Send) and the integrated multi-effect. The first two channels have a rotary control for compressor application. For both sends, to the right of the mixer there is the respective return control fader (DFX RTN and AUX RTN).
