Korg introduces yet another evolution in the Kaossilator series, embracing Ableton Live software users with its new Kaossilator 2S handheld synthesizer, thanks to multi-track export of projects created in Ableton Live Set format. The suffix "S" stands for Sound On Sound, thus reinforcing its overdub recording capabilities available in the integrated Loop Recorder, now equipped with Undo and Redo functions, to cancel, and if necessary restore, the last overdub performed without having to restart the song from scratch.

With the unique Touch Pad, you can play the 150 built-in sound programs by tapping or simply swiping your finger across its surface to play melodies or rhythmic phrases that you can simultaneously record in the Loop Recorder. The rich sound palette (see more details on our website for the complete list of Programs) includes: 25 Leads, 10 acoustic sounds (including traditional guitars and pianos), 30 basses, 25 chords, 20 sound effects, 15 drum banks with one-shot sounds, and 25 pre-packaged drum patterns in construction kit mode.

The product allows you to set a musical scale and its respective tonic, as well as vary the range, to facilitate easier interaction with the touch pad, which controls the played notes on the horizontal axis (naturally respecting the set scale), while on the vertical axis it interacts with effects, nuances, or sound variations.

The Loop recorder records and overdubs indefinitely, with no track limits. The Gate Arpeggiator with its 50 presets will allow you to create captivating phrases. The various patterns and/or overdubs you make in the Kaossilator 2S will be stored separately, allowing you to decide at the export stage in which format to export the various generated .Wav files: Multi-track, Two-channel Mix, and Ableton Live set. The latter format consists of an Ableton Live project in which each individual recording (layer) will be assigned to a dedicated audio track, thus allowing you, once the project is opened in the DAW, to continue production, adding tracks, virtual instruments, effects, and proceeding with mixing and mastering. A code is provided to download and install a LITE (Limited) version of the Ableton Live software. Other interesting functions include the Master Recorder, to record and save your performances in a .Wav file, audio recording from the integrated microphone, or from a source connected to the stereo mini-jack input. Compact and lightweight, it is powered by two AA batteries, or by a 4.5V power adapter (not included). Equipped with a small integrated speaker for use in any situation, it has a stereo output on a mini-jack connector for connection to headphones or a sound system. For storing, exporting, and managing files, it uses microSD cards (512MB/2GB), or microSDHC (16GB) inserted into the appropriate slot.
