Jhs The Overdrive Preamp for Guitar

The JHS Overdrive/Preamp is a faithful replica of this rare, or rather non-existent, primordial version of DOD's most beloved pedal.

The controls are simple and to the point. The LEVEL knob controls the overall volume of the effect and allows you to attenuate or boost the output signal.

This control is slightly different from the one on the #75, to correct a general lack of volume, now more than generous.

The GAIN control adjusts the level of the input signal to the overdrive circuit; the more you turn it clockwise, the more you will clip the Op-Amp designated for this purpose.

Between the two knobs is a slider switch, not present on the original unit or on the 250: while researching the #75, Josh came across a second example, with a clipping circuit and a different sound from the first; this switch allows you to have both pedals available and explore their sounds.
