The JCT95 Justin Chancellor Cry Baby® Wah is the signature wah pedal by Jim Dunlop for Justin Chancellor, combining three of his favorite ways to explore new sounds: envelope filter, wah, and fuzz.

OVERVIEW

The Justin Chancellor Cry Baby® Wah is a pedal that combines three separate effects into one unit: the fluid expressiveness of a custom midrange filter, the brilliance of a custom wah circuit, and the edgy sound of a vintage fuzz. It's the perfect pedal for bassist Justin Chancellor's multi-dimensional role in Tool. Whether playing open chords or in unison with guitarist Adam Jones, Justin pushes the traditional boundaries of his instrument to help compose the band's songs. This custom Cry Baby® features a U.K. Filter mode and a Wah mode, plus a Fuzz that can be used alone or in conjunction with the two modes.

The U.K. Filter mode uses a custom solid-state circuit, designed to emulate the envelope filter on the Tone knob of Justin's instrument: this mode delivers a thick, guttural sound with pronounced peaks. Used with the fuzz, the U.K. Filter mode generates synth-like tones.
If you prefer a more traditional wah sound, the Wah mode uses the classic red Fasel® inductor and the circuit of a modified Cry Baby Wah to offer a more aggressive sound rich in harmonics. The Wah mode can also be used with fuzz.

Customize each mode with separate Volume and Q controls, switching between them by pressing the Wah Select switch. In each mode, this pedal's circuit maintains the solidity of the midrange frequencies by boosting your clean signal at 400Hz, blending it with the effect as you move the wah rocker.
The built-in fuzz in the JTC95 is based on a vintage UK-made pedal, and provides a precise sound while maintaining a full and rich low end. By default, the fuzz only engages when you use the pedal's rocker. To use the fuzz alone, simply press the side switch.

Justin uses the U.K. Filter mode independently, combining the Wah mode with fuzz. This pedal allows you to emulate his sound, or experiment with all available configurations to unlock the potential of your pedalboard. The Justin Chancellor Cry Baby Wah is a must-have for bassists who love to experiment with sounds.

POWER

This pedal can be powered by two 9-volt batteries or an AC adapter, such as the Dunlop ECB003 or MXR Brick series power supplies.

CONTROLS

Wah Select: selects U.K. Filter mode (controls light up blue) or Wah mode (controls light up yellow);
Wah Vol: adjusts the volume of the Wah mode;
Wah Q: adjusts the bandpass shape of the Wah mode;
U.K. Filter Vol: adjusts the volume of the U.K. Filter mode;
U.K. Filter Q: adjusts the bandpass shape of the U.K. Filter mode;
Fuzz: adjusts the fuzz gain;
Tone: adjusts the EQ of the fuzz signal;
Vol: adjusts the volume of the fuzz signal;
Fuzz select: activates and deactivates the fuzz (red light indicates it's active);
Fuzz Ind Ctrl: activates and deactivates independent fuzz mode;
Bypass Delay: sets the "ring-out" time after the wah rocker returns to the starting position.
